Phi Home Designs creates one beautiful piece at a time. All of our furniture is produced entirely on site, and we would never consider using pre-manufactured components from elsewhere. Phi Home Designs is dedicated to creating precisely the furniture you desire, whether you envision a faithful reproduction of a classic design or are thinking of something out of the ordinary. We respect and admire traditional designs and are skilled at producing historically accurate pieces. We also enjoy adapting established designs to today's uses, such as a chest of drawers to hold your CD collection or a desk that accommodates your computer. And we love the challenge of entirely new concepts.

From Concept to Completion
When we meet with you, we will note the needs you want the furniture to satisfy, the style you prefer, and any and all details you delineate. We encourage you to provide us with descriptions, rough drawings, or plans. We can also come to your office or home if you would like — it can be helpful to see the setting in which the piece will ultimately be placed.
Always paying close attention to your wishes and requests, we will create your furniture using detailed computer-assisted design drawings coupled with time-honored methods of style, joinery, and finish. In most cases we can produce full-scale renderings for you to help ensure that the furniture will perfectly fit your environment.

that complements your individual needs, lifestyle, and décor.
While your project is underway, we will keep you apprised of the progress by providing you with photographic documentation. We invite you to be as engaged in the process as you like, and will welcome your visit to our workshop.
The Elements of Fine Furniture
Each piece of furniture we make must meet and surpass a series of rigorous requirements. First, it must be made of the finest materials, and even the smallest details must be beautifully executed. It must also do an exceptional job of fulfilling the functions for which it was intended. And it must be as handsome and graceful as a piece of sculpture, and truly enhance the surroundings into which it is placed.
Making furniture to the very highest standards requires skill, patience, art,
and experience, all of which our craftsmen offer you in abundance.
At Phi Home Designs, we employ traditional methods of joinery including mortise and tenon and hand-cut dovetails; then carefully assemble all parts for a perfect fit. We are adept in a broad range of techniques, including hand carving and intricate turnings. Possible finishes range from hand-rubbed oil to sprayed lacquer, varnish, and paints, including milk paint and high-gloss marine finishes. If you are considering inlay, marquetry, stone, glass, leather, or metals, we can incorporate any of these media into your piece.
Because we know you will be eager to receive your furniture, we strive for punctuality. In most cases, we can complete your order within six months. We deliver throughout New England and can ship anywhere using professional, insured trucking companies who will handle your furniture with the care it deserves.
