A delightful masterpiece, the Cambridge Secretary is shown crafted in beautifully grained curly maple with a deep amber stain and varnish on the top and interior and a worn ebonizing on the base. The raised panel doors, drop down desk top with pullout supports, hand turned legs and lock rail, interior dividers and drawers, and a hand "scrub" planed front panel provide rich detailing to this stately charmer. The true genius in this piece is what you don't see: the upper doors open to reveal ample space for a flat panel TV and the faux drawer fronts drop down to expose storage for a DVD player and components.
